Frequently Asked Questions
Can programs be tailored to our students?
Yes. Every school and student cohort is different.
Programs can be adapted according to student age, group size, confidence levels, physical ability, school priorities and the outcomes you want to achieve.
Your program may focus more heavily on fitness, confidence, wellbeing, leadership, emotional regulation, school engagement or a combination of these areas.
Before recommending a format, we will discuss what your school is experiencing and the students you want to support.
What types of female only programs do you offer?
Healthy Teens can deliver:
• School gym sessions
• Boxing fitness programs
• Empowerment programs
• Leadership programs
• Mentoring programs
• Sports Academy support
• Wellbeing interventions
• Small group engagement programs
Schools can select one program type or combine different elements into a tailored program.
Can schools combine boxing, gym and wellbeing content?
Yes.
Many schools choose a blended program that combines practical movement with confidence building, resilience, goal setting and wellbeing education.
For example, a program may include boxing fitness, strength training, group discussion and personal development activities within the same session.
Are the boxing sessions contact based?
No.
Our boxing fitness sessions are designed around fitness, coordination, confidence, focus and emotional regulation.
Students may use boxing pads, bags and fitness drills, but the sessions are not designed around students fighting or sparring with one another.
Are the programs suitable for girls who are not sporty?
Yes.
Many of the students who benefit most from these programs do not see themselves as sporty or confident in traditional physical education environments.
Sessions are designed to be inclusive, supportive and achievable. Students can participate at their own level while gradually building confidence and capability.
What year levels are the programs suitable for?
Programs can be adapted for upper primary and secondary school students.
The language, activities, expectations and wellbeing content are adjusted according to student age and developmental needs.
We can recommend the most suitable format after discussing your cohort.
Can you work with students who are disengaged or lacking confidence?
Yes.
Healthy Teens regularly works with students who may be withdrawn, disengaged, reluctant to participate or lacking confidence in physical activity.
The aim is to create a supportive environment where students feel respected, encouraged and able to experience success.
Programs can also be designed for students requiring targeted wellbeing support.
Can you work with high performing athletes as well?
Yes.
Female Sports Academy and strength and conditioning programs can support students already involved in competitive sport.
These programs may include fitness testing, strength development, movement quality, athlete mindset, goal setting and performance habits.
Can sessions be delivered during school hours?
Yes.
Sessions can be delivered during:
• Physical education classes
• Wellbeing periods
• Pastoral care sessions
• Elective programs
• Lunchtime
• Before school
• After school
We work with schools to identify a structure that fits within the timetable.
How long are the sessions?
Session length depends on the program and school timetable.
Most sessions run between 45 and 90 minutes.
Programs can also be adjusted to suit standard class periods, extended wellbeing blocks or after school sessions.
How many students can participate?
Programs can be delivered to small targeted groups or larger student cohorts.
Small group programs allow for more individual support and discussion, while larger groups can work well for fitness, empowerment and year level initiatives.
The recommended group size will depend on the program type, venue, staffing and student needs.
Can the program be delivered as a one off session?
Yes.
Programs can be delivered as:
• One off workshops
• Four week programs
• Six week programs
• Eight week programs
• Term based programs
• Ongoing school initiatives
For deeper behaviour, confidence and wellbeing outcomes, schools often choose a multi week format.
Who delivers the sessions?
Sessions are delivered by experienced Healthy Teens facilitators with backgrounds in fitness, youth mentoring, coaching and student wellbeing.
Facilitators understand school environments and are experienced in creating sessions that are engaging, structured and appropriate for young people.
Do facilitators have Working With Children Checks?
Yes.
Healthy Teens facilitators maintain appropriate Working With Children Checks and relevant professional insurances.
Further documentation can be provided to schools as part of the booking and onboarding process.
How do you manage student safety?
Safety is built into the structure of each program.
Activities are selected according to student age, ability, experience and the school environment.
Students are taught safe movement techniques, equipment use and appropriate participation expectations before progressing into more challenging activities.
Programs are also designed to be non judgemental, inclusive and emotionally safe.
What equipment does the school need to provide?
This depends on the program.
Some sessions can be delivered using existing school facilities and equipment. For other programs, Healthy Teens may bring selected equipment such as boxing pads or training resources.
We will confirm equipment, venue and setup requirements before the program begins.
Do we need a school gym?
No.
While school gym programs require access to suitable gym equipment, many boxing, empowerment, mentoring and fitness sessions can be delivered in a multipurpose room, gymnasium, hall, outdoor area or suitable classroom space.
Can female staff attend or support the sessions?
Yes.
Schools are welcome to have teachers, wellbeing staff or support staff present.
Staff involvement can also help reinforce program themes and support students between sessions.
Can the content be aligned with our school priorities?
Yes.
Programs can be aligned with areas such as:
• Student wellbeing
• Physical activity
• Respectful relationships
• Leadership development
• Emotional regulation
• School engagement
• Resilience
• Positive body image
• Healthy habits
We can also discuss current concerns or themes your school would like addressed.

• Participation observations
• Student reflections
• Staff feedback
• Confidence and engagement measures
• Fitness testing
• Facilitator observations
The measurement approach will depend on the program type and school objectives.
Will our school receive a report?
Reporting can be included where appropriate.
This may include student feedback, participation observations, survey results, key themes, areas of growth and recommendations for future support.
Reporting can help schools evaluate the program and plan the next stage of student support.
Can you support culturally diverse student groups?
Yes.
Programs can be adapted for culturally and linguistically diverse students and cohorts with different levels of confidence, English language ability and prior experience with fitness or wellbeing programs.
The focus remains on creating an inclusive and respectful environment where students feel comfortable participating.

Before delivery, we will discuss:
• The students you want to support
• Current school concerns
• Desired outcomes
• Program format
• Group size
• Session timing
• Venue and equipment
• Any relevant student considerations
We will then recommend the most appropriate structure for your school.
How much do the programs cost?
