Specialist school wellbeing programs for schools 2027
Addressing Challenging Behaviour. Building Respect. Creating Positive Change.

When challenging behaviour, disengagement or repeated behavioural incidents begin affecting learning, relationships and school culture, schools may need additional support.

At Healthy Teens, we deliver targeted student behaviour intervention programs that help young people understand the impact of their actions, develop personal responsibility and build practical skills for positive change.

Working alongside school leadership and wellbeing teams, we design engaging interventions addressing disrespect, bullying, harmful attitudes, emotional regulation, peer relationships, disengagement and inappropriate conduct.

Through authentic conversations, practical activities and guided reflection, we encourage students to think differently, take ownership of their choices and develop healthier ways of responding.

Your students. Your challenges. A program designed around your school’s needs.

Supporting Schools Through Behavioural Challenges

Every school faces different challenges, and every student brings different experiences, needs and influences into the classroom.

Healthy Teens works with schools to address concerns including:

Inappropriate Language and Disrespect

Offensive comments, inappropriate humour, defiance, classroom disruption and disrespect towards teachers or peers.

Bullying, Peer Pressure and Harmful Behaviour

Intimidation, exclusion, negative peer influence, harmful interactions and behaviours affecting others.

Respectful Relationships and Gender Respect

Sexist attitudes, sexualised comments, harmful stereotypes, consent, personal boundaries and respectful communication.

Emotional Regulation and Conflict

Anger, frustration, impulsive reactions, interpersonal conflict and difficulties responding calmly to challenging situations.

Disengagement and Disruptive Behaviour

Low motivation, poor classroom participation, repeated behavioural incidents and difficulties connecting positively with school.

Accountability and Personal Responsibility

Understanding consequences, recognising the impact of decisions, taking ownership of behaviour and developing healthier responses.

We focus on addressing behaviours without defining young people by their mistakes.

When Previous Strategies Haven't Made the Difference

Schools often seek additional support after implementing classroom strategies, restorative conversations, mentoring, disciplinary measures or existing wellbeing interventions.

Despite these efforts, certain behaviours may continue.

Healthy Teens offers schools another way to engage students, challenge unhelpful thinking and reinforce positive behavioural expectations.

Before designing an intervention, we take time to understand what has already been attempted, how students have responded and what the school most wants to see change.

Through relatable conversations, interactive activities and structured reflection, we build on existing efforts rather than simply repeating familiar messages.

Because meaningful change requires more than understanding the rules. Students also need opportunities to practise the skills behind better choices.

Building Understanding, Respect and Accountability

More Than Behaviour Management

Building Understanding, Respect and Accountability

Challenging behaviour rarely exists in isolation. Peer influences, emotional wellbeing, individual learning needs and social dynamics can all affect how students respond to situations.

Our approach combines clear expectations with meaningful engagement, practical learning and personal accountability.

Students are encouraged to:

  • Recognise how their words and actions affect themselves and others.

  • Understand emotional triggers and develop healthier responses.

  • Challenge harmful attitudes and negative peer influences.

  • Strengthen communication, empathy and respectful relationships.

  • Take greater responsibility for their behaviour and decisions.

  • Develop practical strategies for managing conflict and difficult situations.

  • Identify personal goals and positive steps forward.

Our aim is not simply better behaviour during a session, but skills students can apply in everyday school life.

Targeted Interventions Designed Around Your Students

You Tell Us What’s Happening. We Work With You to Develop the Right Approach.

We don’t believe in delivering the same intervention to every group.

Healthy Teens works collaboratively with school leaders and wellbeing teams to understand the students, identify the challenges and establish realistic objectives.

1. Understand the Challenge

We discuss the behaviours being observed, previous interventions, student needs and the changes your school would like to see.

2. Design the Intervention

We tailor the content, activities, facilitation style and delivery format to suit the students’ ages, learning needs and circumstances.

3. Engage, Challenge and Reflect

Through relatable scenarios, practical challenges, movement-based activities and guided discussion, students explore their behaviour and alternative choices.

4. Reinforce Positive Change

Students identify practical strategies and personal commitments, while schools can receive feedback and suggestions to reinforce learning beyond the sessions.

Emotional regulation programs for schools

Supporting Progress Beyond the Program

Meaningful behaviour change takes more than a few sessions. That’s why Healthy Teens works with schools to reinforce learning, recognise progress and support students beyond the program.

Depending on the program’s structure and objectives, schools may receive:

  • Student reflections and personal commitments: Opportunities for students to reflect on their behaviour, identify areas for improvement and set meaningful goals.

  • Facilitator observations: Practical insights into student engagement, participation and emerging strengths or challenges observed throughout the program.

  • Program feedback: A summary of key themes, student responses and progress towards the agreed program objectives.

  • Recommendations for continued support: Suggested strategies schools can use to reinforce positive behaviour, accountability and respectful relationships.

Our aim is not simply to deliver an engaging program, but to help schools build on the progress students make and encourage positive change beyond the final session.

Real Schools. Real Challenges. Real Student Feedback.

Healthy Teens has worked with Victorian secondary schools to support emotional regulation, student engagement, respectful relationships and responsible decision making.

Our approach combines practical learning and authentic connections, supported by school endorsements and encouraging student feedback.

Lyndale Secondary College

Emotional Awareness and Student Engagement

Healthy Teens delivered an Emotional Awareness Program combining boxing, self-defence, strength training and structured emotional regulation activities.

The program supported students to recognise emotional triggers, develop calming strategies, strengthen confidence and respond constructively to challenging situations.

In a post-program survey completed by seven students:

  • 100% reported feeling more in control of their anger.

  • 100% reported at least moderate improvement in responding calmly under pressure.

  • 100% reported improved energy and focus.

  • 100% would recommend the program to others.

In its February 2026 letter of support, Lyndale Secondary College reported observable improvements in classroom participation, self-regulation and positive engagement with staff and peers.

The school also highlighted the program’s value for students requiring Tier 2 support and students from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.

Results reflect self-reported feedback from seven students. Individual outcomes may vary.

CREST Education

Respect, Boundaries & Real Choices

Healthy Teens delivered a targeted seminar for Year 11 and 12 male students addressing consent, respectful relationships, pornography, personal boundaries, vaping, peer pressure and responsible decision-making.

The seminar was informed by student survey feedback, allowing the content to respond directly to the concerns and experiences of the cohort.

“Paapa demonstrated an exceptional ability to connect with young men—speaking with clarity, honesty, and authenticity.”

Mariam Khalil
Deputy Head of Campus, Senior Secondary (Years 11–12)
CREST Education

CREST Education reported overwhelmingly positive student feedback, with many participants indicating that the seminar encouraged them to reconsider their actions and their impact on others.

Year 10 Girls Respectful Relationships Workshop

Respect, Consent, Boundaries and Personal Safety | August 2026

Healthy Teens delivered a practical workshop helping Year 10 female students explore respectful relationships, consent, personal boundaries, peer pressure, online safety and healthy decision making.

Following the workshop, 30 student surveys were reviewed:

  • 96.3% of valid respondents would recommend the workshop.

  • 92.9% rated it Good or Excellent.

  • 100% of valid responses across six core learning areas agreed their understanding had improved.

  • 96.2% of valid respondents agreed the session felt respectful and safe.

The evaluation highlighted strong student engagement, positive perceived learning and opportunities for ongoing respectful relationships education.

Percentages reflect valid responses to each question and immediate student feedback.

Different students. Different challenges. The same commitment to meaningful engagement and positive change.

Why Schools Choose Healthy Teens

Real Conversations. Practical Experiences. Meaningful Connections.

Healthy Teens combines experience in youth engagement, mentoring, physical activity and student wellbeing to create learning experiences that connect with young people.

Our approach is built around four principles:

Connection Before Correction
Building trust and engagement so students feel comfortable participating in honest, sometimes challenging conversations.

Respect Without Judgement
Addressing harmful behaviour clearly while recognising each student’s strengths and capacity for growth.

Practical, Engaging Learning
Using relatable scenarios, interactive activities, movement and reflection to encourage meaningful participation.

Collaboration With Schools
Working alongside leadership, teachers and wellbeing teams to complement existing strategies and reinforce learning beyond the program.

We adapt our approach to the students in front of us, rather than expecting every student to respond in the same way.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can Healthy Teens help students who repeatedly display inappropriate or challenging behaviour?

Yes. We develop targeted interventions for students experiencing repeated behavioural difficulties, including disrespect, disruptive conduct, inappropriate language, peer conflict and difficulties accepting responsibility.

Before delivery, we discuss the specific concerns, previous strategies and desired outcomes to ensure the intervention responds to the school’s needs.

Can you address sexist comments, sexualised language and disrespect towards female students or teachers?

Yes. Our programs can address sexist attitudes, sexualised comments, consent, personal boundaries, harmful stereotypes, gender respect and appropriate communication.

We encourage students to recognise the impact of their behaviour, challenge harmful assumptions and develop healthier, more respectful interactions.

Serious safeguarding concerns remain subject to the school’s established reporting and response procedures.

What if our school has already tried other behaviour interventions without success?

We recognise that schools may have already implemented restorative conversations, mentoring, classroom strategies or other wellbeing supports.

Our approach begins by understanding what has been attempted and building on existing work through practical activities, relatable conversations and structured reflection.

Do you work with disengaged students who are reluctant to participate?

Yes. We recognise that traditional classroom approaches do not connect with every student.

Where appropriate, our sessions incorporate movement, interactive challenges, practical scenarios and authentic conversations to encourage participation, build trust and strengthen engagement.

Can you deliver interventions for small groups or entire year levels?

Absolutely. We offer targeted small-group interventions, year level workshops and structured programs delivered over multiple sessions.

Group size and delivery format are determined in consultation with the school, based on student needs, objectives and available resources.

How many sessions do you recommend?

This depends on the concerns and desired outcomes.

A single workshop may introduce important concepts or respond to an emerging issue. Repeated or complex behavioural challenges may benefit from several sessions that allow students to practise strategies and reflect on their progress.

We recommend a suitable format following an initial discussion.

Can you address sensitive topics such as pornography, consent, vaping and harmful attitudes?

Yes. Our programs can include age-appropriate discussions about pornography, consent, respectful relationships, vaping, peer pressure, personal boundaries and responsible decision making.

We work with schools to identify relevant concerns and ensure discussions are delivered sensitively, respectfully and in line with appropriate safeguarding expectations.

Can programs be adapted for neurodivergent students and alternative education settings?

Yes. We collaborate with relevant school staff to understand students’ communication, sensory, learning and engagement needs.

Activities, instructions, pacing and reflection tasks can be adjusted to support meaningful participation and recognise individual strengths.

How do you measure whether an intervention has been successful?

We encourage schools to establish realistic objectives before delivery.

Depending on the program, progress may be explored through student feedback, reflection activities, participation observations, teacher feedback and agreed behavioural indicators.

Longer programs may also incorporate surveys before and after delivery, alongside recommendations for continued reinforcement.

How much does a targeted student behaviour intervention cost?

Pricing depends on student numbers, session duration, program length, location, staffing requirements and the level of customisation.

Following an initial discussion, Healthy Teens can provide a tailored proposal outlining the recommended delivery format, objectives and associated costs.
